“One of the strongest songs on the record”
DROWNED IN SOUND
Single taken from the 2017 album Hearts That Strain. My grade provides a strong blue feel but keeps realistic skin tone. I also added the background elements using animated lighting and masking in After Effects.
This intimate performance video was filmed and directed by Jack Atherton, who can usually be found sitting about 10 feet behind Jake playing the drums.
The second official video I have directed for the band Snow Ghosts, who are on the Houndstooth label from Fabric. As with our previous collaboration Lied which can be seen below, this features a reworking of found footage that I sourced from various archives plus new material using ink blots which I designed and filmed myself.
The video was used to mark the release of the band's limited edition 180g vinyl EP, and the song was given Track Of The Week at Drowned in Sound.
For more info about the making of the video, and a full credit list of the archive used, see here.
The official video for this single from ethereal trio Snow Ghosts, drawing on archive footage dating back to the 1920s, plus additional footage I shot myself.
The video premiered in THE INDEPENDENT who described it as “full of wonderful gothic drama”.
For more info about the making of the video, and a full credit list of the archive used, see here.
On November 11th 2013, in the middle of an arena tour and on the verge of the release of his second album, Jake Bugg came to Nottingham to perform a secret gig to only 100 people. The venue, The Maze, was where he had played one of his first gigs at only 15-years-old.
Not only did I edit the above behind the scenes video, I also edited the entire concert as well as operating one of the cameras throughout. Three of my song edits can be seen here at the official Jake Bugg website.
Arctic Monkeys created a two day festival at Old Trafford in 2007, where they played on both days and were supported by Amy Winehouse, Supergrass and The Coral. The shows were hailed as 'the gigs of a generation' by NME.
I was approached to create two 20 minute films for the onstage video screens, using all the unseen original rushes from their various music videos and rare Super8 footage shot by the band themselves. Across the two days these edits were seen by 110,000 people.

DISAPPEARED was the first single from the album Indigo Shores by Kirsty Bertarelli, currently Britain’s richest woman. This live performance was one of three that I edited, plus I also cut a behind the scenes promo about the making of her album.

THE GUARDIAN
Directed by Paul Fraser (writer of TwentyFourSeven, Room For Romeo Brass and director of promos for Arctic Monkeys and Plan B), this video was for the lead single from Kid Acne’s album Romance Ain’t Dead. As well as being big in the UK Hip Hop scene, Kid Acne is also an amazing artist as can be seen here.
FUN FACT: My girlfriend Claire plays the girlfriend in this video. So far she has never forced me to live in the garden, which is a relief.
